Brent crude oil futures slipped 31 cents or 0.3 percent, to settle at 110.09 a barrel on Monday, dragged down by demand worries over a factory growth slowdown in China and worsening business sentiment in Europe. Brent contract has fluctuated between $110.89 and $109.58 during the session.

Russia and China are likely to reach framework agreements on gas supplies by the end of March, deputy Russian Prime Minister Arcady Dvorkovich, who is currently on a visit to Beijing, said in a statement. Dvorkovich said that Gazprom and the Chinese partners are engaged in active talks on the terms of Russian gas supplies to China.

Brent crude oil futures increased on Monday, backed by data indicating a high demand for imported crude in China in January, but uncertainty about Italy’s election capped oil from its early peak. Meanwhile, Brent April crude climbed 34 cents, or 0.30 percent, to settle at $114.44 a barrel, having traded from $113.73 and $115.87.

Brent oil fell below $114 a barrel on Monday on concern about China’s demand growth as manufacturing activity in the world’s second-biggest oil consumer pulled back from two-year highs. Brent increased 42 cents to $114.52 a barrel by 0905 GMT. Meanwhile U.S. oil rose 30 cents to $93.43, after falling to as low as $92.96, near a more than one-month trough of $92.44 hit in the previous session.

According to a recent report released by the National Bureaus of Statistics the country used the equivalent of 3.62 billion tones of coal, corresponding to about 66,4% of the total energy consumed, at the same time as oil and natural gas made up something like 18.9% and 5.5%, respectively.
