Daily (28.07.2021): British gas prices extended gains on Tuesday amid supportive weather, tight supply

Oil prices are continuing a choppy sideways trade in absence of news. Uncertainty over the potential ramifications of the Delta wave which could jeopardize the energy demand recovery put pressure on crude prices. Hence, Brent crude settled at $74.48 a barrel, posting its first loss in six sessions. U.S. WTI crude lost 0.4% to close at $71.65 a barrel.

Saudi Arabia Skips LNG, Bets Big On Hydrogen

Last year, Saudi Arabia’s national oil company Saudi Aramco sent shockwaves through the natural gas markets after it announced that it was kicking off the biggest shale gas development outside of the United States. Saudi Aramco said it plans to spend $110 billion over the next couple of years to develop the Jafurah gas field, which is estimated to hold 200 trillion cubic feet of gas. The state-owned company hopes to start natural gas production from Jafurah in 2024 and reach 2.2 Bcf/d of sales gas by 2036 with an associated 425 million cubic feet per day of ethane.

Daily (11.03.2021): NBP price for front-month delivery gained 5% on Wednesday due to cold weather forecasts

Crude oil prices edged higher on Wednesday, as the EIA’s weekly report showed continued disruptions in US oil production following February’s cold wave. Hence, Brent crude rose by 0.6% to $67.90 a barrel and WTI oil was 0.7% up at $64.44 a barrel.

China secures coal, gas and power supplies ahead of another cold wave

China has taken measures to secure natural gas, electricity and coal supplies ahead of another expected cold snap in coming days, the country's top policy planner, the National Development and Reform Commission, said in a Dec. 28 press conference, according to a transcript on its website.
