Crude oil prices increased modestly on Friday, hovering at about a two-week high, supported by supply disruptions in Iraq and a calmer outlook for the banking sector. Hence, Brent crude for May delivery, which expired upon settlement, gained 50 cents, or 0.6%, to settle at $79.77 a barrel. In meantime, US WTI crude increased by $1.30, or 1.8%, to end at $75.67 a barrel.

Oil prices decreased on Friday, amid rising US crude inventories and a gloomy economic outlook. A further potential rise in US interest rates also weighed on prices. Consequently, Brent crude fell by almost 3% to $79.94 a barrel and WTI oil dipped by 3.3% to $73.39 a barrel.

Crude oil prices moved downwards on Friday amid reports that oil loadings from Russia's Baltic ports were set to rise by 50% this month from December. Hence, Brent crude declined by 81 cents, or 0.9%, to settle at $86.66 per barrel. U.S. WTI crude decreased by $1.33, or 1.6 %, to settle at $79.68 a barrel.

Crude oil prices moved upwards on Friday amid the prospects of rising demand in China as the economy in the world’s biggest oil importer gradually bounces back from nearly three years of stringent Covid lockdowns despite increases in infections. Hence, Brent crude increased by $1.47, or 1.7%, to settle at $87.63 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude settled at $81.31 a barrel, gaining 98 cents, or 1.2% day-on-day.

Crude oil prices prolonged their gains, to hit a one-week high on Wednesday as optimism about the global economy and concerns about the impact of sanctions on Russian crude output outweighed a massive, unexpected build in US crude stocks. Brent crude soared by $2.57, or 3.2%, to settle at $82.67 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude increased by $2.29, or 3.1%, to settle at $77.41 a barrel.
