Oil prices extended losses on Thursday, on previous news of an increase in US crude reserves. However, the market recovered as OPEC+ announced forecasts of a larger-than-expected drop in global stocks this year. Hence, Brent oil slipped by 0.3% to $84.32 a barrel and WTI crude edged 0.2% higher at $82.81 a barrel.

Daily (28.10.2021): Oil prices lost more than 2% on Wednesday, pressured by a weekly increase in US crude stocks

Crude oil prices were bearish on Wednesday, as crude reserves in the United States rose by twice as much as analysts expected. Moreover, prices fell on signs of a resumption of nuclear negotiations with Iran. Hence, Brent oil lost 2.1% at $84.58 a barrel and WTI crude dropped by 2.4% to $82.66 a barrel.

Crude oil prices rose on Wednesday, after the EIA published the report on US crude stocks, which unexpectedly decreased week-on-week. Thus, Brent oil increased by 0.9% to $85.82 a barrel and WTI crude edged 0.6% higher at $83.42 a barrel.

Daily (23.09.2021): Oil prices gained 2.5% on Wednesday, supported by declining crude inventories in the United States

Oil prices strengthened on Wednesday, following the US Energy Information Administration’s weekly report showing a decline in crude stocks caused by the recent hurricanes. As such, Brent oil and WTI crude both rose by 2.5% to $76.19 and $72.23 a barrel, respectively.
